Make Educational Opportunity Possible in Louisiana
Great news! Louisiana is a qualified ACE Scholarships state.
ACE Scholarships has served Louisiana families since 2014, helping thousands of students access educational opportunities that work best for them. Now, Louisiana has also opted into the Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC), creating a new opportunity for eligible students and families beginning January 1, 2027.
Eligible Louisiana taxpayers can commit now to make a qualifying EFTC contribution through ACE Scholarships starting January 1, 2027, when the federal tax credit takes effect.
Louisiana’s Current Status
Louisiana has opted into the EFTC. Governor Jeff Landry announced Louisiana’s participation in December 2025, creating a new scholarship opportunity for eligible students beginning in 2027.

The EFTC Opportunity Is Coming to Louisiana
Louisiana’s participation makes EFTC-funded scholarship opportunities available to eligible students beginning in 2027, once applicable requirements are in place.
Qualifying Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) will need to meet applicable federal and state requirements before EFTC-funded scholarships are available.
Does Louisiana Have a State Scholarship Tax Credit?
Yes. Louisiana offers a separate state scholarship tax credit through the Tuition Donation Credit Program.
Eligible taxpayers can receive a nonrefundable Louisiana income tax credit for up to 95% of qualifying contributions to approved School Tuition Organizations. The Louisiana Department of Education verifies contributions and issues receipts that taxpayers use to claim the tax credit. Unused tax credits may be carried forward for up to three years.
ACE Scholarships participates in the Tuition Donation Credit Program, giving Louisiana taxpayers another way to help make educational opportunities possible for students.

Building Louisiana’s Future – One Student at a Time

More than 75% of Louisiana K–12 students could qualify for an ACE scholarship, with many trapped in underperforming schools simply because of where they live. But a quality education shouldn’t depend on a zip code.

Over 70% of families WANT school choice, but only a fraction have access. ACE Scholarships is changing that by offering partial scholarships to eager students.

Our Model Works
Since its founding in 2014, ACE Louisiana has provided a solution.
Last year, more than 3,700 students applied for ACE scholarships, but over 1,650 of them were turned away largely because the funding wasn’t there. The demand is real and the results are proven, but we need your help.
