How does ACE determine who receives a scholarship?

Students from households earning up to 300% median family income as determined by HUD are eligible. Scholarships are available to K-12 students who reside in states that opt-in and who are eligible to enroll in public school.

Can I direct a donation to a particular child?

No, to ensure fairness, transparency, and compliance you cannot direct donations to a specific child. If donating through the Education Freedom Tax Credit, you can specify a particular school you would like your dollars to go to.

What percentage of dollars raised go towards a scholarship?

90% of all donated dollars and gifts contributed through a state or federal tax credit go towards the ACE scholarship fund. The scholarship award amount for each child is determined by ACE on a case-by-case basis.

Do ACE scholarships only provide funds for private school tuition?

No, scholarships can be used for students enrolled in private, public, and charter schools and can include tuition, tutoring, educational technology, special needs services and other qualifying educational expenses as allowed by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

How much is required to fund a scholarship for one child?

On average, a $3,500 gift will scholarship one student for one year.

How do matching gifts work, and can they double my impact?

Many employers offer matching gift programs that financially match charitable donations made by employees. After making a gift to ACE Scholarships, you can submit a matching gift request through your employer. If approved, your company will make an additional donation to ACE, often dollar-for-dollar, allowing your generosity to go twice as far in helping students access educational opportunities.
