ACE Alumni Engagement

A way for past ACE Scholarship recipients to get more and give back!

Once you become an ACE Scholar, you’re part of an extended family you will have forever. A family tied together through their stories of perseverance, hard work, and a strong belief in the importance of education. Led by the ACE Alumni Board, our ACE Scholarships Alumni Program provides our former ACE Scholars with opportunities to network, serve, celebrate, and share their stories in support of our current scholars and the thousands of children still waiting for scholarships. It all stems from our core belief that our alumni are the next generation of philanthropists – giving back to their communities through time, talent and treasure, and serving as living proof that the impact of a quality education is visible in our communities long after students leave the classroom.

Alumni Engagement Staff

Catherine “Cat” HendrixAlumni & Family Coordinator
Catherine leverages her many talents and creativity to organize, create and implement a broad-spectrum of communications, activities, and events that invigorate our long-term relationships with ACE Alumni and families. As we award more and more scholarships each year, ACE Alumni are our ambassadors to the world and a critical resource we are able to continually engage through Catherine’s leadership. Well prepared for this role, Catherine was a Parent Coordinator with Parents Challenge, a Site Director for the Boys and Girls Club Pikes Peak Region, and a Senate Intern for the Office of Senator Cory Garner.

Luis Villarreal, Chief Alumni Officer
Luis is responsible for ACE Alumni and all that entails including oversite of all alumni engagement efforts, events and communication, as well as the ACE Alumni Board and the ACE Scholarships Alumni Program. This is a critical role given the importance of ACE Alumni to the future of our organization serving as a significant resource and authentic voice that reaches the next generation of scholars and donors. Prior to ACE, Luis founded Save Our Youth Mentoring for at-risk youth and The Masters Apprentice working with low-income men and women. He was also Pastor of two Denver urban churches that served impoverished Latino families and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has trained nationally and internationally.
