Does my child qualify for a scholarship?

  1. Your child must be a resident of Louisiana.
  2. Your family income is less than the amount listed in the chart.
  3. One of the following statements must be true:
    • Your child attended a Louisiana public school during the 2019-20 school year.
    • Your child participated in the Louisiana Scholarship Program/Tuition Donation Credit Program during the 2019-20 school year.
    • Your child will be attending kindergarten for the first time during the 2020-21 school year.

How do I apply?

For the 2020-21 school year, the ACE Louisiana scholarship application will open to new applicants on Monday, March 2nd at 12:01am. Please have your proof of income and proof residency documents ready to submit when the application opens.  For proof of income, we will need your 2019 tax return form, or documentation for the income your household received in 2019, i.e. SNAP benefits, social security, disability, unemployment, etc. For proof of residency, we will need a household document dated in 2020 with your name and current address on it.

NOTE: For both current ACE families and new ACE applicants, there will be a $35 per family application fee to apply for an ACE scholarship for the 2020-21 school year.

Who pays what?

An ACE Scholarship is worth a maximum of $4,200 per year for grades K-8 and $4,500 for grades 9-12. Scholarship cannot exceed the full amount of tuition and fees at the school. The families are responsible for working out a payment plan with the school for the remainder of tuition.

What schools participate?

A wide variety of private schools participate in the ACE Scholarship program. It is up to the families of potential scholarship recipients to select the best school for their child. ACE Scholarships provides financial support for the student but does not own or operate any of the schools. To see a complete list of schools in Louisiana scroll down. The ACE Scholarship can follow your child.

If your child is awarded a scholarship, those funds are portable during the school year and may be used at any partner private school. So if the private school you select ends up not being the right fit, you can transfer your child to another partner private school, and the scholarship goes with them.
