ACE Alumnus Javon Comes Full Circle

Javon’s life had the potential to be no different than any other underserved child growing up in the metro area.

But, he received one of the first ACE scholarships ever awarded, and today, he gets to be the linchpin for thousands of Colorado students, like ACE was for him.

As the Director of Academic Advising, Retention, and Persistence at the Community College of Denver, Javon works every day to change the trajectory of his students’ lives.

Geoff Bailey, ACE Board Chairman, reflects:

What struck me about Javon’s story was his transition from receiving from others, to giving back by serving on the ACE Alumni Board, counseling others, and participating in various civic functions.
